Victorian farmer cuts back on food waste

A Werribee South farm has become the first in Victoria to turn its excess stock into a nutritious powder, stopping it from going to waste.

The family of broccoli and cabbage growers says thousands of tonnes of vegetables are being saved every year.

It’s hoped the technology will be rolled out to other Victorian food producers.

“Zero waste, zero food waste, is ultimately what we’re seeing here at this farm,” Victorian Environment Minister Lily D’Ambrosio said.
