Teal MP ‘full of gas’ over fossil fuel shareholder activism claim

Sky News host Rowan Dean says independent MP Kylea Tink is much like the companies she has secretly invested in – "full of gas".

Ms Tink revealed she owns shares in two fossil fuel companies.

The Climate 200-backed independent said she purchased small shareholdings in Viva Energy Group and Beach Energy for the purpose of “shareholder activism”.

The North Sydney MP claims wanted to better understand the operations of the two fossil fuel companies and potentially drive reform from within.

"Conveniently, Tink's spokesperson was silent on the extent of her shareholder activism or even whether she'd attended any shareholder meetings in the first place," Mr Dean said.
