Scott Morrison pledges 1.3 million jobs over five years


Prime Minister Scott Morrison has pledged to create 1.3 million jobs over five years if he is re-elected.

He insists job-creating measures are in the budget, including investments in skills and trades, and support for infrastructure and manufacturing.

Mr Morrison’s promise would put downward pressure on the unemployment rate.

Labour force figures, to be released on Thursday, are expected to reveal the unemployment rate falling below four percent.
