‘Same argument every year’: Australia Day debate begins

Sky News reporter Caroline Marcus says activists campaigning against Australia Day celebrations have “the same argument every year”.

Australian cricketer Josh Lalor is calling for people to boycott Australia Day celebrations by going to work, hoping to spark conversations about the public holiday.

Ms Marcus said opposing Australia Day being held on January 26 is “not a universal sentiment amongst Indigenous people, as much as these advocates would like you to believe.

“It often is a really inner-city issue, elite issue.”
