Russia to withdraw from International Space Station after 2024

Russia has reportedly announced it will withdraw from the International Space Station after 2024 to build its own orbital outpost.

The announcement was made by Russia’s newly appointed space agency chief Yuri Borisov, as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues.

A senior NASA official says the US-based agency was not informed.

Mr Borisov confirmed Russia would fulfill its obligations to ISS partners before departing the project.
