Quorn Foods issues urgent recall for three products that pose food allergy risk

Shoppers who have purchased some products from Quorn Foods are being urged to return them to stores if they suffer any dairy allergies or intolerances.

The vegan/vegetarian food company sells a range of meat free products, including a variety of Quorn Bites.

Three of their products are being ‘urgently recalled’ after a report from The Food Standards Agency (FSA) found that they contained two undeclared ingredients on their packaging.

It was found that their Sweet Chilli Bites, Korma Bites and Garlic & Herb bites contained the presence of milk and mustard and could pose a health risk to anyone who is allergic to them.

The FSA wrote: ” Quorn Food is recalling three variants of its Quorn Bites products (Sweet Chilli, Korma, and Garlic & Herb) because they contain mustard and milk which are not mentioned on the label.

As a result of a packaging error some packs have been packaged incorrectly across the three variants. This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents and / or an allergy to mustard.”

Shoppers who have purchased any pf these products are being urged to return not to consume the products and to return them to stores for a full refund.

Point of sale notices have been provided to tell customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products.

Here are the details of the three products that are affected and being recalled.
