Police have been forced to pause the search for a missing paraglider, following reports they may have crashed off the coast near Wollongong.

A multi-agency search operation was sparked at about 2pm on Saturday following reports a paraglider had crashed into the water about 200m offshore at Woonona Beach, just north of Wollongong.
Officers attached to Wollongong Police District, PolAir, Marine Area Command, Westpac Helicopter and Surf Life Saving NSW immediately commenced a search for the person involved.
Despite hours of looking, the person was unable to be located, with emergency services forced to postpone the search at about 5pm on Saturday.
The search is due to resume from 8am on Sunday.
