Pacific region is ‘focal point’ in US-Australian partnership


Senior Adviser at Data for Progress Aiden Smith says the Indo-Pacific region is “vital” to international affairs and a “focal point” for the US-Australian partnership. 

Mr Smith said the China-Solomon Islands security deal would pose a potential strategic recalibration in Indo-Pacific region. 

“It really cannot be stressed enough that Australia is a such a vital US partner in the region,” he told Sky News Australia. 

“The Pacific has really become the focal point for international, strategic efforts.”
