None of the big issues ‘afflicting Australia’ discussed following leaders debate

The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says the campaign is a “low-rent” one.

It comes after two political leaders of the major parties faced undecided voters in Wednesday night’s Sky News-Courier Mail People’s Forum.

“I think the pile on, on Morrison for the autism comments is utterly ridiculous,” Mr Sheridan told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“All the huge issues afflicting Australia, the huge structural deficit … our woeful education standards, the absolute shattering terrible performance we’ve got on productivity, our complete failure to produce any relevant defence capabilities in the next 10-15 years.

“None of these issues, our trillion-dollar debt? None of that up for discussion; it was Scomo theoretically crossing a verbal line.”
