Manly jersey saga ‘not a political issue’ as sport is ‘escapism’


ARL Commission Chairman Peter V’landys says the Manly pride jersey controversy is “not a political issue” as “sport is escapism”.  

Mr V’landys said he is the “last person” who wants to use sport for political issues.  

“We use sport to escape, we use it to have entertainment and enjoy ourselves,” he told Sky News Australia. 

“This is not a political issue.”
