Life opportunities shouldn’t depend on ‘colour of your skin’: Jason Clare

Education Minister Jason Clare says he doesn’t want Australia to be a country where life opportunities “depend on your postcode, your parents and the colour of your skin.”

“Kids from poorer families are less likely to go to preschool, less likely to finish high school and less likely to get a university degree,” he said during Question Time.

“About 48 per cent of young people in our major cities have a university degree but that percentage in regional Australia is about 20 per cent.”
