Labor’s Help to Buy policy ‘isn’t going to fix’ declining house affordability

Sky News contributor Caleb Bond says “Labor’s policy to give 10,000 people half of their house to the government isn’t going to fix” the declining affordability of the housing market.

“It doesn’t matter whether you’re in Newcastle or anywhere else in the country, that is simply a drop in the ocean,” he told Sky News host Jenna Clarke.

“The only answers you seem to get from both the Labor Party and the Coalition are things that actually create more inflationary pressure within the housing market.

“It only drives prices up.”
