Calls to scrap QR codes in New South Wales

Health experts are questioning the need for QR check-in codes, saying they have become useless in the fight against Omicron.

There are calls to scrap the system in New South Wales altogether because they aren’t being used for contact tracing.

The Daily Telegraph reports some ministers are hoping to wind back requirements by the end of February for hospitality venues, supermarkets, offices and retails shops.

This date would coincide with the easing of other restrictions including mask mandates, density limits and the ban on singing and dancing.
