Calendar brings in cash for PADS dog charity

There were huge smiles at a Perthshire dog rescue charity after it was handed a bumper donation of over £3000 by ace local fundraiser Marysia Macfarlane.

The £3510 cheque to Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society (PADS) came from the sale of Marysia’s brainchild ‘Pictures of Perth and Beyond’: a stunning 2022 calendar illustrated with glorious pictures of the Fair City and of some sensational snaps of the wildlife in its rural surroundings.

The pictures were taken by keen amateur camera enthusiasts in Marysia’s 6000 strong social media group.

PADS chair Alison Kennedy said: “We are very grateful for Marysia’s wonderful donation.

“It was a great achievement to produce and sell such a beautiful calendar and we wish her good luck for her future fundraising.

“Thanks to Marysia and her team for thinking of PADS.”

Marysia, a full-time care worker, said: “We have members who regularly post pictures of Perth views and wildlife in the area. We decided to put the best of them into a calendar for sale in aid of a good cause.

“We are all dog lovers, so we are giving all the proceeds to PADS.

“People love to help a charity like PADS. And they adored the calendar, which sold really well.

“The response was amazing.”

She added: “We have already started putting together another calendar for next year, this time for humans.

“We hope to help Perthshire Women’s Aid.”
