Australian flag a ‘constant’ for ‘national unity’

Sky News host Gary Hardgrave says the Australian flag has been a “constant” for national unity in both good times and bad, as tomorrow marks Australian National Flag Day.

Mr Hardgrave said it will be the anniversary of the first time the flag was flown on September 3 1901.

“Millions have worn our flag on uniforms as they serve in our name, and many millions more have sworn their oath of allegiance before our flag as they became citizens by choice, joining the Australian family.”

Mr Hardgrave said, however, there are so many in public and corporate life who seek to “divide” rather than “unite”.

“The extreme political Greens, well they’ve sent a clear message about their divisive agenda, they won’t fly the Australian flag.”
